Vote NO on the Recall – Don’t halt CA’s progress

Next Tuesday, September 14th, is the deadline to vote in the Governor’s recall election. Based on polling, if the recall passes, we could likely end up with a far-right Trump supporter as our next Governor. By voting NO, you can help secure a progressive future for our families and communities and stop Republicans from reversing decades of progress and organizing that protects essential workers, tenants, poor and unhoused people, LGBTQ, immigrant and refugees, women, and communities of color.
We must all turnout to vote NO on the recall so that we can put the brakes on this Republican power grab. The recall is nothing more than an attempt to seize on this moment of uncertainty resulting from the pandemic in order to advance candidates whose values do not reflect our communities. We’ve seen in the past how Republican governors rollback our hard-fought wins. We can’t afford backtracking on renters’ protections, unemployment assistance, and so many other issues that most heavily impact our poor, working-class, communities of color. It is clear that this election will shape whether we continue to provide funding and resources for our communities during these times of crisis or allow the conservative few to continue to protect the selfish interests of wealthy corporate billionaires.
It is crucial we mobilize and turn out our friends and family to the ballot box. Voting at this upcoming election is harm reduction for the future of millions of Californians.

In order for us to win this election, our answer to question 1 is crucial: If a majority vote NO to question 1, question 2 becomes discarded.
Voters will be asked:
Question 1: Do you want to recall the current Governor, Gavin Newsom?
Answer: NO
Question 2: If the majority of voters decide to recall the governor, who should replace him and become the next governor? (List will provide 46 candidates)
Recommended Answer: Leave blank
You should have received your vote-by-mail ballot in the mail by now. The last day to cast your vote is Tuesday, September 14th by 8pm – return your ballot in person at a polling location or a drop box. You can also return via mail as long as it is postmarked by 9/14.

If you have not yet received your ballot, you can still register to vote up to the Election Day (9/14) and will receive a conditional provisional ballot.

It is going to take ALL of us to show up at the ballot box to represent our families and communities. Vote NO on the recall by Tuesday, September 14 and defend decades of progress.
